You want to stream Channel 4 content on your big screen. Connecting your account takes seconds. You need your TV and a separate device like a phone or laptop.
Open the Channel 4 app on your Smart TV or console.
Navigate to the Sign In or My4 section.
Select Sign In.
You will see a 5 or 6 character activation code on the screen.
Keep this screen open.
Open a web browser on your phone, tablet, or computer.
Type channel4.com/code into the address bar.
Sign in to your Channel 4 account if the site prompts you.
Enter the activation code displayed on your TV.
Select Continue or Activate.
Your TV screen updates automatically. You can now watch.
Why does my code not work?
The activation code expires quickly for security. If you wait too long the code becomes invalid. Select Back or Get a new code on your TV. Repeat the steps immediately.
Do I have to pay?
No. A standard Channel 4 account is free. You watch advertisements during shows. You only pay if you upgrade to Channel 4+ to remove ads.
Can I sign in on multiple devices?
Yes. You can link multiple Smart TVs, consoles, or streaming sticks to a single account. You must perform the activation process for each new device.
I forgot my password?
Go to the Channel 4 website. Select Sign In. Click Forgotten password. Check your email for a reset link.
Does this work outside the UK?
No. Channel 4 restricts content to the UK. You cannot stream shows if your IP address shows a location outside the United Kingdom.
My TV screen is stuck?
Close the Channel 4 app completely. Restart your TV. Check your Wi-Fi connection. Open the app and try the activation process again.
